The Dangers of the Internet

Earlier this month (May 2001) a news story broke in the USA about a man, John Edward Robinson who had alledgedly placed ads online, and used chat rooms on the internet to procure female submissives. So far he has been charged with 5 counts of capital murder.

This is not an everyday event, but when it becomes headline news like this has, it rocks people in the scene, and makes them more aware of their own vunerability as a sub/slave and responsibility as a Dom/Owner.

We have to try and minimise the risks female subs/slaves are taking to meet the right Dom/Owner It can never ever be stressed enough, that just because someone online tells you he is a Dom/Owner, don't take his word for it. Question him, talk and talk some more before you eventually arrange to meet him.

Ensure that you always have a silent alarm or safe call in place before you set off, and that at least one other person knows exactly where you are.

People like this are in the minority, but it just goes to show it still can and indeed does happen. Maybe next time you arrange to meet a prosective Dom/Owner you will bear this story in mind. After all you don't want to end up murdered in a barrel somewhere!
